Luna had just given birth to six tiny puppies. While searching for food to keep herself strong enough to care for them, a cruel act awaited her—someone had hidden poisoned food under the very car where she had delivered her litter. Desperate and unaware, she ate the toxic meal and became trapped beneath the vehicle.
A young boy happened to notice Luna in a dire state. He waited until the elderly person who had placed the food was gone, then quickly contacted Prishtina Dog Shelter. The team rushed to the scene. Though Luna’s breathing was labored, she still managed to lift her head—her eyes begging for help, not for herself, but for her puppies. The shelter’s veterinarian administered an emergency injection to stabilize her.
She was immediately taken to the shelter, where she was gently reunited with her newborn pups.
Though weak and visibly exhausted, Luna made it through the night. The next day, she was strong enough to receive her first round of injections—vital for both her own health and that of her babies. Despite being understandably anxious, she remained calm and cooperative—an incredibly sweet and brave girl.
By the following morning, the vet examined her and gave reassuring news: Luna was doing well. Her pups, still far too young, weren’t yet ready to be adopted. Luna’s face lit up with excitement every time she saw them, her maternal instincts stronger than ever.
