Tula: The Blind Kitten Who Found Love and Laughter

Late last year, a Good Samaritan discovered a tiny tabby kitten in distress. With severely damaged eyes and a frail body, the kitten was in desperate need of help. Despite her condition, she was friendly and affectionate, kneading away on her new blanket. Unable to find immediate assistance, the rescuer reached out to the community for help.

Marie, founder of One Cat at a Time, an all-volunteer rescue organization, saw the post and sprang into action. She welcomed the kitten into their care and named her Tula.

At just 5-6 weeks old and weighing only one pound, Tula was skin and bones. Despite her hardships, she showed resilience and a sweet disposition. She eagerly ate her meals and made “muffins” when petted, a sign of her comfort and trust.

Tula needed surgery to remove both of her damaged eyes, but she had to wait until she was strong enough. During this time, she thrived in her new environment, gaining weight and energy. She spent her days kneading her blankets, purring contentedly, and exploring her surroundings with the help of her other senses.

With the support of the community, Tula underwent the necessary surgery and received all the care she needed to thrive. She quickly adapted to her new life as a blind kitten, developing a ravenous appetite and boundless energy. Her playful antics and affectionate nature brought joy to everyone around her.

Tula’s story is a testament to the resilience of animals and the power of compassion. Despite her challenges, she found love and happiness, living life to the fullest in her own unique way.
