Trapped in the sticky tar, the dog mustered all its energy to bark loudly for help, indicating its distress and urgent need for assistance.

In the chilly town of Suwałki, Poland, an exhausted and abandoned dog desperately searched for warmth and shelter.
Shivering and alone, he stumbled upon what seemed to be a safe, warm surface—a patch of freshly poured tar. Unaware of the danger, the dog lay down, hoping it would shield him from the cold. But instead of comfort, he found himself trapped.
It wasn’t until he tried to move that the dog realized he was stuck.
Panicked and helpless, he began to bark as loudly as he could, hoping that someone—anyone—would hear his cry. His snout managed to break free from the sticky tar just enough to let out a distressed howl for help.

Luckily, nearby workers heard the dog’s desperate barking and rushed over to investigate.
What they found was heartbreaking: a terrified animal partially submerged in black tar, struggling to move and clearly in pain. Realizing the urgency, the workers immediately called for help from local animal rescuers.
Joanna Godlewska, a compassionate rescuer from the Niczyje Animal Foundation, quickly arrived on the scene.
She brought with her not only expertise but an incredible amount of care and determination. Soon, police officers and local firefighters joined her in what became a coordinated rescue operation.

The team worked delicately, knowing the dog was not only physically stuck but emotionally overwhelmed.
Using special tools and an abundance of patience, they began removing tar-covered fur piece by piece. It was a slow and careful process, but eventually, they managed to free his entire body from the thick black trap.
Once freed, the dog was immediately transported to a veterinary clinic for a full examination and treatment.
There, vets discovered that the poor animal was not only exhausted and dehydrated but also covered in more than 100 ticks. Despite his ordeal, the dog remained calm, as if he knew he was finally in safe hands.
He was bathed multiple times to remove the stubborn tar still clinging to his fur and paws.
After hours of gentle cleaning, he was finally able to rest. He was given a warm, cozy bed to curl up in and a hearty meal—the first in what was likely a very long time.

The dog, now lovingly named Farcik, also received treatment for some minor head injuries.
With each passing day, he grew a little stronger. His rescuers watched as he slowly began to regain his strength, his trust, and even the ability to walk again.
Farcik will remain in the care of his rescuers until he makes a full recovery.
He is receiving not just medical care but plenty of love and attention. Once he is completely healed, Farcik will be ready to find a forever home—one where he will never be cold, hungry, or abandoned again.
His journey from pain to healing is a reminder of the power of kindness, teamwork, and second chances.
We hope Farcik continues to grow stronger every day and that he soon finds the loving family he truly deserves.
