Jessica Tarlov Speaks Out on Two-State Solution and U.S. Response to Palestinian Crisis

During a heated discussion on The Five, Jessica Tarlov shared her perspective on the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the elusive two-state solution that has long been sought but remains out of reach. Tarlov noted the failure of many prominent leaders, including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, to resolve this issue despite their best efforts.

“The two-state solution we’ve all hoped for is still just a dream,” Tarlov began. “It’s something many have tried to achieve and failed at. Not just in the U.S. — Tony Blair devoted his career to it and couldn’t make it happen.” She expressed her doubts about any immediate solution but acknowledged that the current arrangement is unsustainable, especially for neighboring Arab countries. “The surrounding Arab nations are not willing to absorb these people,” she said.

Tarlov went on to point out a statement from the former Prime Minister of Jordan, who declared that the situation amounts to a “declaration of war” on Arab people. She challenged anyone pushing for the resettlement of refugees to take them in, saying, “If you’re truly a humanitarian, then take those 2 million people to the U.S., the country you lead, and resettle them here. You can’t just force them onto other nations.”

Co-host Dana Perino responded, highlighting that some countries, like Albania, had offered to help. “They could take a few, but you’re talking about 2 million people,” Tarlov countered.

Jesse Watters lightened the mood with a joking suggestion, “Spread them out. Maybe some can go to Greenland.”

However, Jessica shot back, emphasizing the absurdity of such proposals by referencing the expressions of others in the studio. “If you want to see how ridiculous that idea is, just look at Susie Wiles’ face when it was mentioned,” Tarlov said, calling out the visible shock of the staff.

Tarlov also referenced Jared Kushner’s earlier suggestion of turning Gaza into a desirable property location, calling it part of a broader, potentially financially motivated idea. “Maybe this has been in the works for a while, but you can’t just push this solution on others,” she insisted.

In response, Dana Perino shared a personal insight, discussing Trump’s recent viewing of the October 7 footage. “This is not about him wanting to build a hotel there,” Perino said. “What about compassion for the Palestinian people? Who is offering to help them?”

Jessica countered, “If you’re the one trying to solve everything, shouldn’t you also back it up with action?” She reminded the panel of the U.S.’s significant financial contributions to Gaza.

“We’ve funded Gaza more than any other country,” Jesse pointed out, though he was cut off by Tarlov, who emphasized the complexity of the situation. “Gaza was overrun with terrorists, but you can’t expect neighboring countries to take in millions of people they don’t want,” she explained.

Jeanine Pirro entered the conversation, asking, “Should we just let them live in rubble and hate everyone else?” Tarlov responded by asserting, “You can’t just make Jordan open up.”

Jeanine Pirro, attempting to steer the debate in a more constructive direction, argued, “This is about encouraging the Arab world to take responsibility. For economic progress in that region, we need peace and a rebuilding effort in Gaza.”

The debate ended with Jesse Watters making a lighthearted remark: “Instead of saying ‘No, we can’t,’ Jessica, maybe try, ‘Yes, we can.’”
