Leo and Tabitha: Survivors of a Brutal Attack

In the heart of Xanthi, Greece, two young cats, Leo and Tabitha, were found in a dire state. Abandoned and left to fend for themselves, they became victims of a brutal dog attack that left them severely injured and unable to move. Their cries for help were heard by compassionate locals who immediately sprang into action.

Rescuers found Leo first, hidden in a neighbor’s yard, unable to move and crying out in pain. His body bore the marks of the attack—deep wounds exposing bone and muscle on his right leg and arm. Tabitha was later found in a similar condition. Despite their injuries, both cats displayed a remarkable will to survive.
They were rushed to a veterinary clinic where they received immediate care. The veterinary team administered antibiotics and pain medication, starting the long road to recovery. The road ahead was uncertain, but the resilience of Leo and Tabitha gave hope to all who cared for them.

Thanks to the support of GreaterGood Charities’ Emergency Animal Medical Fund, the cats received the necessary medical attention. However, the journey to full recovery required months of care and rehabilitation. Their perseverance and sweet dispositions remained intact, a testament to their strength and the compassion of those who helped them.

Leo and Tabitha’s story is a reminder of the cruelty that animals can face and the importance of community in providing care and support. Their recovery was not just a medical journey but a story of survival, compassion, and hope.
