Daniel Radcliffe and Erin Darke Step Out with Newborn in Adorable Father’s Day Outing
Daniel Radcliffe has been spotted enjoying a sweet Father’s Day stroll in New York City, just two months after welcoming his first child with longtime partner Erin Darke.
The famously private couple were seen in the West Village, with Radcliffe, 33, carrying their baby in a front carrier. Though they have yet to reveal the baby’s name or gender, the little one looked cozy in blue socks and a sage green bucket hat.
The outing marked a rare public appearance for the low-key pair, who have been together since 2012. They first met while filming Kill Your Darlings—and the connection was instant.
Radcliffe previously described their first on-screen interaction as something special. “Our characters were flirting, and it’s kind of sweet to watch us meeting for the first time,” he shared in a 2019 interview. He even admitted there was “no acting going on” during their scene together. “There’s a moment where she makes me laugh, and it’s just me, not my character,” he told Playboy in 2015. “She was incredibly funny and smart. I knew I was in trouble.”
The couple kept the pregnancy under wraps until paparazzi photos revealed Darke’s baby bump in March, just a month before their child’s birth in April.
Despite more than a decade together, Radcliffe and Darke have only made a few red carpet appearances, including one for The Lost City premiere in 2022.
With this new chapter, Radcliffe now joins fellow Harry Potter alum Rupert Grint in parenthood. Grint welcomed his daughter, Wednesday, with partner Georgia Groome in 2020. Like Radcliffe, Grint and Groome have kept their personal life private.
Emma Watson, the third member of the beloved trio, has also chosen a life away from the spotlight in recent years. After her last film, Little Women, she took a break from public life, only reemerging during the 20th anniversary Harry Potter reunion special in 2022. Though she has no current acting projects announced, Watson recently told the Financial Times that she plans to return to acting when the right opportunity comes along.
“I love what I do,” she said, “but I don’t want to fracture myself into different faces anymore. I’m just waiting for the next right thing.”
As for Radcliffe, the joy of new fatherhood was clear during his walk through Manhattan. While the couple continues to keep details about their baby under wraps, fans were thrilled to catch a glimpse of the actor in this heartwarming new role.
