Littlest Kitten Has Very Big Reaction To Meeting Her New Dog Siblings

Nimbus may be small, but judging the kitten by her looks alone would be a big mistake. She is a fighter — and knows how to make a big first impression when it counts.

Sam Gerth first met Nimbus when she was barely old enough to open her eyes. His girlfriend found the white kitten, covered in dirt and oil from the road, on her way home from work.

“We gave her a bath in the sink to try to clean her up a little bit, and then we turned on our space heater and let her rest in front of it because she was shivering and cold,” Gerth told The Dodo. “She ended up falling asleep in my hand for about 45 minutes in front of the heater.”

With two dogs and two other cats already at home, the couple wasn’t sure if they were ready to add a new member to their family. They decided to keep Nimbus separated from the other animals while she regained her strength — and while they made up their minds about her future.

It soon became clear that the little kitten had made a very big first impression, and wasn’t going anywhere: “She very quickly stole our hearts, so that made that decision pretty easy,” Gerth said. “After a day or two, we decided it was time to introduce her to the family.”

When she met the feisty dogs for the first time, one of whom belonged to Gerth’s sister, Nimbus drew herself up to her full height and fluffed out all her fur to make herself as intimidating as possible.

Needless to say, the energetic dogs quickly learned who was boss.

“She definitely is a brave little kitty!” Gerth said. “She stood her ground to every dog and animal she met!”

There was, however, one dog Nimbus trusted from the start — Zep. The gentle giant loves everyone he meets and was happy to snuggle and comfort the little kitten.

The cats took a little longer to accept her, but within a few days, Nimbus won them over. “They now get along great and play all the time,” Gerth said.

After a month and a half in her new home, Nimbus has grown into a healthy, happy cat.

However, her dad is still not sure if her tiny appearance will ever match her spunky personality: “She is a quirky little goofball and has a personality 10 times her size!”
