12-Year-Old Boy Surprises the FBI After Achieving Nuclear Fusion in His Bedroom

When most 12-year-olds are focused on video games or watching TV, Jackson Oswalt from Memphis, Tennessee, was busy working on something much more extraordinary. While many of us were preoccupied with the latest Disney shows or video game consoles, Jackson had a life-changing moment that would alter the course of his young life.
At the age of 12, Jackson had what he described as a “sudden epiphany.” He realized that excelling at video games would not lead to anything of true importance in the grand scheme of life. As he explained on the Guinness World Records website, he concluded that while video games were fun, they ultimately lacked real-world significance. This realization led him to make a bold choice: to turn his attention to something more meaningful—science.

Rather than diving into typical childhood hobbies like comic books or movies, Jackson decided to pursue the real-world equivalent of the video games he loved: nuclear fusion.
